With the popularity of this diet program there are many supporters who have offered some great tips to help ensure success on the program. Below are eight of those tips.

1.- Follow the Weight Watchers program closely and don't cheat. This is a program that allows for small indulgences and as long as you track your points you should not need to cheat. Allow those small treats and accurately record your points. You will find the small treat enough to satisfy your craving and the guilt will not sidetrack your program.

2.- Drink, Drink, Drink. Drink plenty of water, especially with meals. The water will help to make you feel full and avoid that second helping. The water is also essential in all of the metabolic processes in the body.

3.- Exercise. No diet program is complete without a good exercise program, and Weight Watchers is no exception. The exercise helps burn excess calories and increase overall fat loss. More importantly it helps sculpt the muscles underneath to give a more shapely appearance once the fat is lost. It also helps ensure that the weight loss truly is fat weight.

4.- Follow your Weight Watchers plan even when eating out. Do not avoid special events just because you are dieting. It just takes a little extra planning and asking the right questions. At a restaurant ask if they can prepare the chicken or fish a little different or not add the sauce. At a party choose the vegetable tray instead of the Swedish meatballs. Share the dessert instead of eating it all yourself.

5.- Watch out for fruits. Having some fruits in your diet is important because they have some essential vitamins and nutrients. You need to look at your fruits carefully though, because some are much higher in points than others. Not all fruits are created equal on the Weight Watchers diet.

6.- Develop a support system. Find Weight Watchers meetings in your area that meet weekly or monthly to provide support. It is also a good idea to find a friend or co-worker who might like to go on the diet with you. You can support each other and bounce ideas back and forth. Going it alone can be difficult and those with a good support system usually find more success in the end.

7.- Use no, or low, calorie flavorings and toppings. Salsa is a great example of this. It provides a kick to your potatoes or but adds no points. Mustard, vinegar, and spices all fall into this category as well. Anything that can add a little spice to the Weight Watchers diet is a plus.

8.- Journal. Take the time to write down your meals and activities for the day. This helps to keep you honest and allows the opportunity to look back at a later date to see how a certain meal and activity combination worked. You may find certain meals that seem healthy but sabotage your success while other meals keep you going strong.
